Rachel Coggins, DO, specializes in noninterventional rehabilitation medicine. She focuses on patients dealing with conditions such as cancer, strokes, brain injuries, and deconditioning, all of whom require rehabilitation, including mobility and orthotics.

Dr. Coggins collaborates closely with a multidisciplinary team comprising physical, occupational, and speech therapists, as well as nurses and social workers, to deliver comprehensive rehabilitation care. Her services encompass a broad spectrum of treatments.

Dr. Coggins' Education and Experience

Outpatient:

  • Post mastectomy musculoskeletal conditions
  • Lymphedema management: evaluation and management, including DME management
  • Prehabilitation and optimization of function prior, during, and after cancer therapies
  • Cancer-related fatigue
  • Cancer-related neuropathic and musculoskeletal conditions
  • Stroke: including spasticity (medication management)
  • Traumatic brain injury
  • Deconditioning
  • Functional decline and mobility optimization
  • DME prescriptions: mobility aids and orthotics
  • Follow up from acute care hospital/SNF/acute rehab facility: help to coordinate care with therapy teams and follow therapy plans, DME orders

Inpatient:

  • Stroke
  • Traumatic brain injury
  • Spinal cord injuries
  • Polytrauma
  • Deconditioning – decreased capacity due to cardiac or pulmonary disease
  • Amputations
  • Discharge disposition recommendations – level of care needed after discharge
