At Mary Washington Medical Oncology, formerly Virginia Oncology Care, our commitment is to deliver exceptional hematology-oncology care to individuals from all walks of life. Our state-of-the-art treatment center is staffed by a team of board-certified and fellowship-trained physicians who bring extensive knowledge and expertise to the field. We’re dedicated to offering the highest quality diagnosis and treatment, regardless of the type or stage of cancer or hematological disorder.
In December 2024, Mary Washington Medical Oncology will be converting to a hospital-based outpatient clinic of Mary Washington Hospital. This means that the clinic will operate as an outpatient department of the hospital, not an independent physician office.
We are proud to introduce the PAXMAN technology for scalp cooling, which can significantly reduce hair loss during chemotherapy. Furthermore, we offer hair growth laser therapy to our patients. This service is available to all patients without additional charges.
Our dedication to excellence extends far beyond the medical treatments we provide. We are a caregiver family who believes in not only mending the body, but also nurturing the spirit. We are at the forefront of cutting-edge research and novel cures, thanks to the strength of our organization. Our collaborative approach guarantees that each patient receives a comprehensive and a personalized treatment plan that is suited to their specific requirements. What genuinely distinguishes us is the amount of compassion we bring to every interaction. We listen, we understand, and we stick together through ups and downs.
Every Thursday is Multidisciplinary Breast Clinic day. The day of a new patient's first appointment at the clinic, our team (oncology nurse practitioner, surgeon, oncologist, social worker, and cancer nurse navigator) meets to discuss the patient's plan of care. Once the patient arrives, each care team member meets with the patients individually to discuss next steps, go over the plan of care, and see what other needs or questions the patient may have.
At Mary Washington Medical Oncology, we recognize that the journey through cancer is about more than just eradicating disease. It is also about restoring life's brightness. Our unrelenting commitment to excellence extends to the physical, emotional and psychological elements of treatment. We celebrate every small achievement and empower our patients to tackle each day with strength and hope. We welcome you to experience the ties we build, the optimism we inspire, and the triumphs we celebrate with our patients.
We are working together to build a future in which the darkness of cancer is met with unshakable light of compassion and confidence.
