Mary Washington Spine and Rehabilitation delivers a multidisciplinary, team-based approach to the prevention, evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of painful disorders. Our staff practices advanced techniques, including interventional procedures, medication management, behavioral therapy and rehabilitation or a combination of these to address complex and multidimensional pain syndromes.

Our clinic based in Fredericksburg, VA, specializes in pain management procedures and diagnostics. Teresa Kerge, MD, FAAPMR

Pain Management

Dr. Kerge received her medical degree from Georgetown University and then completed residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at VA Commonwealth University.

Dr. Suthar received his medical degree from Louisiana State University and then completed residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Louisiana State University.

Education and Experience

Laura Britton, PA-C

Ms. Britton graduated from Anne Arundel Community College-University of Maryland's Physician Assistant-Master of Science Health Science inaugural collaborative program. In addition to her PA and MSHS degrees, she has a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from George Washington University and an Associate Degree in Emergency Medical Services, Paramedic from Northern Virginia Community College.

Prior to becoming a Physician Assistant, Ms. Britton was a Paramedic, worked for a volunteer rescue squad, worked in the Inova Fairfax Hospital Emergency Department as an ED Tech II, taught middle school math, science and English, and ran her own tutoring business.

Ms. Britton was born and raised in Washington, DC, but spent her summers in the Fredericksburg area. She made a permanent move to this area after completing PA school. She has a life-long history of charitable outreach and currently volunteers at the Lloyd F. Moss Free Clinic.

Heather Brown, MSEd, PA-C

Heather is a local Virginian - she graduated high school in Spotsylvania County and later returned after finishing her Physician Assistant Studies at Wake Forest School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program in 2001. Heather received her bachelors degree in Sports Medicine from St. Andrew's Presbyterian College in North Carolina and then earner her Master's of Science in Education as a Certified Athletic Training from Old Dominion University.

After graduating from Wake Forest, Heather worked locally as a Physician Assistant - primarily in orthopedics with an emphasis in spine injuries. As a result of her 20 plus years of combined medical experience, Heather has developed a passion for educating patients about their medical conditions and treatment options so that together the patient and provider can tailor a treatment plan that is appropriate and improves the quality of life for her patients.
