Peer Review:
Surveys are distributed to physicians across Northern Virginia and Washington, DC, asking them to recommend doctors they would trust to care for their own friends and family.

Hospital Panel Input:
Local hospitals are invited to convene panels of medical directors and healthcare leaders who nominate physicians based on internal performance criteria, clinical outcomes, and contributions to their organizations.

Editorial Vetting:
The magazine’s editorial team reviews and validates all peer and hospital panel nominations before finalizing the list.

While some physicians may choose to advertise in the magazine, doctors cannot pay to be included on the list. Editorial selections and paid advertising are handled separately to maintain the integrity of the review process.
