Frank Detrane, MD
Dr. DeTrane earned his medical degree from Temple University in 1985 and completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology at Washington Hospital Center in 1992. He is board-certified in both specialties and a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners.
He previously chaired the Endoscopy Committee at Mary Washington Hospital for eight years and contributed to the design of its Endoscopy Center. Dr. DeTrane is a past president of the Fredericksburg Medical Society and is a member of several prominent gastroenterology organizations.
Specializing in colon cancer prevention and GERD, he actively participates in public forums and continues to explore new technologies for optimal GI care. He prioritizes patient education to support informed treatment decisions. Outside of work, Dr. DeTrane enjoys family time with his wife and six children. He has been recognized as one of the region's top gastroenterologists by Northern Virginia Magazine since 2012.
