children, but you have the power to make a life-saving difference.
Prior to the delivery of your baby, we encourage you to reach out to a
local certified safety seat technician for a free appointment to install
your child’s car seat or confirm the placement. See below for child

A properly secured car seat for your child does not stop after he/she is
a newborn. Remember, as your child grows, so does the need and requirement
of the car seat to keep him or her safe. Check out this important information from the

of the car seat throughout your child’s development.

Upon arrival to the station, stay in your vehicle and call the Fredericksburg
Police Department main line at 540.373.3122.
Please have the following at your car seat check:
- Vehicle your child will be riding in
- Child safety seat
- Child safety seat manual
- Car manual (if possible)
Plan to spend up to 45 minutes with the technician for an interactive and
educational training to help you feel confident in safely restraining
your child while in a vehicle.
