MWH Mother Baby Temporary Room Changes

Beginning June 3 through December, we will be undergoing renovations to expand our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) to enhance the level of care we provide to our littlest patients. While this expansion is a positive step towards ensuring top-notch care for newborns in need, it does necessitate some adjustments to our facilities. Please note: visitation will NOT be impacted by the renovation!

During this time frame, mothers giving birth will be accommodated in a different unit than our traditional Mother Baby unit. We want to be transparent about the potential changes you may experience as a result of this temporary relocation:

  1. Room Size: Please note that the rooms available during this period may be smaller than our usual accommodations. We understand the importance of comfort during such a significant time, and we assure you that we are doing everything possible to make your stay as comfortable as possible within the constraints of the renovation.
  2. Support Person Accommodations: While we typically provide pull-out coaches for support persons in our Mother Baby unit, sleeping accommodations may be limited during the renovation period. Visitation will not be impacted by the renovation.

We understand that these changes may cause some concern or inconvenience, and we sincerely apologize for any disruption to your birthing experience. Please know that our top priority remains providing exceptional care to you and your baby during this special time.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding these temporary changes, please do not hesitate to reach out to Rebecca Fizer, Administrative Assistant for MWH Women’s Care Center, at 540.741.1125, during regular business hours. We are here to support you every step of the way and ensure that your experience with us is as smooth and positive as possible.
