Class of 2027

Mashal Fakhar, MD

Mashal Fakhar, MD

Mashal Fakhar, MD, originally from Pakistan, began her educational journey at the Army Public School Humayun Road in Rawalpindi. She later earned her MBBS from Khyber Medical College in Peshawar.

In her leisure hours, Dr. Fakhar delights in picnicking with her husband, indulging in painting and calligraphy. As a newcomer to the United States, she harbors a keen desire to travel and discover the diverse landscapes of the country.

Sean Kim, DO

Sean Kim, DO

Sean Kim, DO, was born in South Korea, and completed his undergraduate studies with a BS in biology and a minor in chemistry at the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, PA.

Dr. Kim earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine, in Lynchburg, VA. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, working out, reading books, and cooking.

Johnafaye Mariano, DO

Johnafaye Mariano, DO

Johnafaye Mariano, DO, was born in Olongapo, Philippines, and completed her undergraduate studies with a BS in biology and minors in chemistry and mathematics at the Virginia Commonwealth University located in Richmond, VA.

Dr. Mariano earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, VA. In her free time, she likes to stay physically active by running and spinning.

Dr. Mariano also enjoys cooking, especially Filipino food, as it keeps her rooted to her culture. She is also starting to learn how to make latte art. When she is not working, she loves to visit Hampton Roads, VA, to see friends and family, and enjoy the beach.

Hannah Peters, MD

Hannah Peters, MD

Hannah Peters, MD, was born in Christiansburg, VA, and completed her undergraduate studies with a BS in biomedical engineering with minors in mathematics, chemistry, and dance at the Virginia Commonwealth University located in Richmond, VA.

Dr. Peters earned her Doctor of Medicine at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, in Richmond, VA. In her free time, she likes to play tennis, read, and find new crafts to do. Dr. Peters also enjoys spending time with her family and two cats!

Amir Shazad, MD

Amir Shazad, MD

Amir Shazad, MD, hailing originally from Pakistan, pursued his undergraduate studies at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA, where he attained a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He subsequently achieved his Doctor of Medicine degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada.

During his leisure hours, Dr. Shazad finds delight in quality moments with his family and exploring various travel destinations.

Muhammad Danyal Tariq, MD

Muhammad Danyal Tariq, MD

Muhammad Danyal Tariq, MD, a native of Peshawar, Pakistan, commenced his academic journey at Islamia College Peshawar before completing his MBBS at Khyber Medical College, also in Peshawar.

In his leisure hours, Dr. Tariq cherishes moments spent exploring new destinations and enjoying the company of his wife and friends.

Mintesinot Achamyelehe, MD

Mintesinot Achamyelehe, MD

Mintesinot Achamyelehe, MD is originally from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and completed his undergraduate studies with a BS in pre-med with minors in biology, chemistry, and psychiatry at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. Dr. Achamyelehe earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at the American University of Antigua in St. John's Antigua and Barbuda.

In his free time, he likes playing soccer, hiking, traveling, and spending time with his wife and kids. In addition, he likes to listen to true-crime podcasts and try new food and restaurants.

Areej Almadani, DO

Areej Almadani, DO

Areej Almadani, DO is originally from Madina, Saudi Arabia, and completed her undergraduate studies with a BS in biology from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, OH. Dr. Almadani earned an MS in Anatomical Science at Lincoln Memorial University, and her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Lincoln Memorial University, DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine, in Harrogate, TN.

In her free time, she likes to cook, hike, and spend time with her family.

Rida Choudry MD

Rida Choudhry, MD

Rida Choudhry, MD is originally from Pakistan but has been living in Canada since she was 6 years old. She completed her undergraduate prerequisites and medical degree from Caribbean Medical University in Willemstad, Curacao. Growing up just east of the Rocky Mountains, she loves the outdoors and spent her summers hiking in the mountains and exploring national parks.

In her free time, Dr. Choudhry likes to try different types of cuisine and is an avid reader. She is very excited to be a part of the Fredericksburg community and is looking forward to exploring Virginia.

Baolian Deng MD

Baolian Deng, MD

Baolian Deng, MD is originally from China and completed her undergraduate studies with a BS in biology from Florida International University in Miami, Florida. She earned her medical degree from the American University of Antigua College of Medicine in Saint John's, Antigua and Barbuda.

In her free time, Dr. Deng likes to knit, crochet, cook, watch movies, and spend time with family and friends.

Lucas Hastings MD

Lucas Hastings, MD

Lucas Hastings, MD is originally from Texas and completed his undergraduate studies with a BS in biology from Texas A&M University in College Station, TX. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center, Long School of Medicine in San Antonio, TX.

In his free time, Dr. Hastings likes to spend time with his wife and two dogs, run/walk the local trails, work in the yard, and read. He is excited to join Mary Washington Healthcare and to serve the Fredericksburg community.

Amanda Herbert MD

Amanda Herbert, MD

Amanda Herbert, MD is originally from Silver Spring, MD and completed her undergraduate studies with a BS in biology from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. Dr. Herbert earned her medical degree at St. George's University School of Medicine in St. George's, Grenada. She also completed an MS in physiology at Georgetown University in Washington, DC.

In her spare time, Dr. Herbert likes to take advantage of activities in her surroundings such as sporting events, plays, poetry readings, and hiking. In addition, she grew up in Caroline County, VA, and is happy to serve the community that made her the person she is today.
