type 1 diabetes in partnership with the Mary Washington Hospital Diabetes

Our purpose is to provide diabetes education and social support programs
to children with diabetes & their families. Activities and events
vary throughout the year. A day camp for children who have completed 1st
grade to 12 years of age is held in June.

The JDRF TypeOneNation Summit is a free, all-day educational and networking
opportunity for anyone in the type 1 diabetes (T1D) community. Hear from
T1D experts on the latest treatments and breakthroughs in T1D research,
meet with other attendees to exchange ideas, and participate in discussions
important to you. Children ages 5-18 may join the Youth Program or Teen
Track and enjoy fun activities and educational programming throughout
the day. TypeOneNation also features breakout sessions and a robust exhibit
hall of vendors representing the latest in diabetes management technology
and products, as well as local healthcare resources and camps. More information
