Mary Washington Health Alliance Offers Integrated Care
The Mary Washington Health Alliance is a clinically integrated network
that was formed through a joint venture of community providers and Mary
Washington Healthcare. It covers more than 50,000 people in the Rappahannock region.
The Alliance completed its first year as an Accountable Care Organization
that participates in the CMS Medicare Shared Savings Program, successfully
demonstrating that it meets all performance quality standards.
The network’s capabilities have been enhanced through partnership
with Rappahannock Health Connect, a database to which Mary Washington
Hospital, Stafford Hospital, and Mary Washington Medical Group practices
contribute patient demographics, lab reports, and dictated notes. This
enables all Alliance physician members to share patients’ electronic
medical records and access their histories across specialties so they
may provide more cohesive care.
In 2015, Mary Washington Health adopted the Allscripts FollowMyHealth Patient
Portal to give patients easy online access their medical information.
This capability was rolled out throughout the year to Mary Washington
Medical Group practices, Mary Washington and Stafford Hospitals, and our
three emergency departments. In addition, Rappahannock Health Connect
brought another 16 community practices into its store of information.
Families who receive medical services through our health system now find
it more efficient and coordinated than ever, thanks to seamless integration
of electronic medical records.
