Medical Education Track

The Medical Education Track at Mary Washington Healthcare is proud to offer their internal medicine residents a focused, longitudinal experience in academic medicine and clinical teaching. The Medical Education Track equips residents with the skills and mentorship to teach, inspire, and lead future generations of residents.

This two-year track is designed for residents who envision a future as clinician-educators and academic leaders. It is open to PGY-2 and PGY-3 residents, with two residents selected each year at the end of their PGY-1 year.

The track is led by Sagah Ahmed, MD, a graduate of George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences who completed her residency and served as Chief Resident at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. Dr. Ahmed brings a strong background in academic medicine and is committed to mentoring the next generation of medical educators. Join us in shaping the future of medical education.
