Thank you for your interest in the Mary Washington Healthcare Internal Medicine Residency Program in Fredericksburg, Virginia. We welcomed our first cohort of Internal Medicine residents in July 2023 and will expand to a total of 45 residents in July 2025.
Our residency offers a comprehensive experience, including inpatient care at our main 471-bed Mary Washington hospital and our 100-bed Stafford Hospital, outpatient care in our internal medicine clinic, and a wide range of elective subspecialty rotations within the health system and across local practices. Residents will manage a diverse patient population with a wide array of medical conditions. The residency program is built around a strong didactic schedule that focuses on clinical reasoning skills, up to date guideline therapy, and POCUS training. Residents utilize Epic electronic health record system for both hospital and clinic rotations.
