Regional Cancer Center at Montross Opens
Mary Washington Healthcare (MWHC) held a grand opening in June 2016 for
its new Regional Cancer Center at Montross. Formerly the Mid-Rivers Cancer
Center, the new center brings a skilled radiation therapy team and advanced
radiation technology to the Northern Neck, including external beam radiation
therapy with CT imaging using 3-D Conformal, IMRT, IGRT, and electron therapy.
As an extension of the MWHC Regional Cancer Center, which is accredited
by the Commission on Cancer, patients of the Regional Cancer Center at
Montross have access to a full range of care, including diagnostics, surgery,
radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and support services.
The center also provides a Cancer Navigator Program as a free service
to all patients diagnosed with cancer regardless of where they seek treatment.
This resource supports and guides patients and their families through
every step of diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship.
