Didactics

Our didactic program is built around a weekly protected Academic Half Day. Clinical schedules are arranged so residents are fully available.

Academic Half Day includes structured didactic education on a three-year rotating curriculum to cover all ACGME-required content areas.

Monthly conferences:

  • Grand Rounds — guest speakers, faculty and resident presentations
  • Journal Club — resident-selected article with faculty-moderated critical appraisal
  • Morbidity & Mortality and QI — resident-led morbidity, mortality, and quality improvement case review
  • Board Review — question-based session with direct faculty feedback

Annual: RITE exam each February with individual Program Director review. All residents attend at least one national conference during residency.

Every resident completes a mentored scholarly project, with protected Research/QI rotation blocks in PGY-3 and PGY-4 to support that work.
