Tuesday 12:00 p.m.–12:30 p.m : Intern lecture series for PGY-1 residents
Tuesday 12:30 p.m.–1:00 p.m.: PD Case Conference
Thursday 12:30 p.m.–1:00 p.m.: Resident Case Conference

Friday 12:30 p.m.–1:00 p.m.: Resident Case Conference

Academic Half Day
On Wednesday from 2:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m. during inpatient medicine rotation, residents will participate in IM residency academic half days. A variety of lectures that includes organ-specific disease processes, EKG reviews, visual diagnosis, board review questions, high value and cost-effective care, healthcare disparities, and wellness topics will be presented and discussed.

Ambulatory Clinic Academic Half Day
During their ambulatory rotation residents will participate in outpatient based educational topics, simulation, and ultrasound training on Tuesday afternoons.

Simulation and Point-of-Care Ultrasound
On Tuesday during the ambulatory rotation residents will participate in 2-hour interactive simulation and ultrasound curriculum comprised of a series of point-of-care ultrasound diagnostic and procedural skill. Residents will be introduced to procedural and ultrasound skills including:

  • Performing paracentesis, thoracentesis, and lumbar puncture under ultrasound
  • Performing peripheral venous and arterial catheterization under ultrasound
  • Ultrasound-guided central venous catheter placement
  • Cardiopulmonary diagnostic ultrasound
  • Diagnosis of deep vein thrombosis with ultrasound
  • Review of anatomical ultrasound for many solid organs
