Program Director: Elizabeth Yanoff, MD, FASAM

I was born right here at Mary Washington Hospital and grew up in Fredericksburg. I left the area to attend Duke University and completed medical school at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, followed by residency in Family and Community Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX.

My training left me fascinated with the intersection of health and behavior. Following residency, I remained at Baylor as faculty in the Department of Psychiatry and worked on the internal medicine team at Menninger Clinic, a renowned psychiatric hospital.

I returned to Virginia to pursue my fellowship in Addiction Medicine before joining Mary Washington to build our Addiction Medicine program. I am thrilled for the opportunity to further serve my community and train the next generation of physicians committed to caring for patients with substance use disorders.
