Fredericksburg, VA, December 16, 2020 – Mary Washington Hospital ICU nurse Stacy Mason, BSN, RN, appeared on
The Rachael Ray Show on Tuesday, December 15, to share with national viewers how she and her
colleagues on the front line of the COVID-19 pandemic are supporting one
another in these unprecedented times.
Mrs. Mason established the Team Cupboard at Mary Washington Healthcare
(MWHC) - a “give what you can, take what you need” pantry
for frontline workers within the health system who don’t always
have time to shop for food and household essentials. The Team Cupboard
is sustained by donations from MWHC Associates as well as members of the
Fredericksburg community and beyond. Upon appearing on the show, Ms. Ray
surprised Mrs. Mason and the Mary Washington Hospital Foundation with
a donation courtesy of
Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day of $10,000 and 1,000 bottles of product, including hand soap, dish soap,
multi-surface cleaner and hand lotion.
“This means so much to me and my fellow front line workers in the
health system,” said Mrs. Mason. “I am incredibly grateful
to Rachael and Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day for sharing this story and
supporting us when we need it most.”
Xavier Richardson, President of the Mary Washington Hospital Foundation,
added, “It is deeply humbling for the sacrifice of our dedicated
healthcare professionals here in Fredericksburg to be recognized on a
national level. Our Associates and their families will benefit from these
gifts many times over.”
Since being featured as a hometown hero by the Fredericksburg, VA-based
Free Lance-Star newspaper in August 2020, Mrs. Mason’s work with
the Team Cupboard has received global attention.
