Recognition highlights Mary Washington Healthcare’s commitment to supporting early-career professionals and fostering a positive, growth-focused workplace culture

Fredericksburg, VA, (April 23, 2026) – Mary Washington Healthcare announced today that it has been named one of Newsweek’s America’s Greatest Workplaces for Entry Level 2026, in partnership with Plant‑A Insights Group. The national recognition honors organizations that excel in creating supportive, inclusive, and growth‑focused environments for employees beginning their careers.

America's Greatest Workplaces Entry Level 2026 logoThe recognition is based on an independent, large‑scale nationwide survey conducted between April 2025 and October 2025, which collected more than 610,000 company reviews from over 37,000 employees aged 18 to 28. Companies cannot apply, register, or pay to be included in the study or influence their placement on the ranking.

“We are honored to be recognized among the nation’s greatest workplaces for entry‑level professionals,” said Joanne Huber-Sturans, Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Mary Washington Healthcare. “At Mary Washington Healthcare, we are deeply committed to helping early‑career associates find purpose, develop their skills, and grow meaningful careers in an environment where they feel supported and valued. When our people can thrive, it strengthens the care and compassion we provide to our patients and community every day.”

America’s Greatest Workplaces for Entry Level evaluates employers across several key areas important to early‑career employees, including work‑life balance, training and career progression, culture and belonging, working environment, compensation and benefits, mental well‑being, job security and stability, and company image.

Mary Washington Healthcare has intentionally expanded programs and practices designed to support workforce development and entry‑level job seekers, contributing to its recognition as one of America’s top employers for early‑career professionals. These efforts are strengthened through partnerships with local high schools, educational institutions, and community organizations that help introduce students to healthcare careers and provide clear pathways from training to employment. Programs include experiential learning opportunities, the Project SEARCH internship program, career pathway mapping, individualized career planning support, education assistance, scholarships, and tuition support, helping associates build strong foundations for long‑term career growth within healthcare.

“In a rapidly evolving job market, today’s young professionals are prioritizing purpose and professional development over a simple paycheck,” said Jennifer Cunningham, Editor‑in‑Chief of Newsweek. “America’s Greatest Workplaces for Entry Level 2026 recognizes organizations that are leading the way in launching the careers of the next generation with integrity, support, and opportunity.”
