Rachel L. Coggins, DO
Rachel Coggins, DO, is a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician. She received her medical degree from the Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Virginia. Board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, she has clinical interests in cancer rehabilitation, general rehabilitation, prosthetics and orthotics, acute care rehabilitation consults, and Osteopathic Manipulation.
Dr. Coggins is actively involved in medical education, teaching and mentoring medical students and residents, with a focus on getting residents and medical students exposure to common rehabilitation diagnoses and musculoskeletal medicine.
In addition to clinical and academic responsibilities, Dr. Coggins serves on several institutional committees, including the Survivorship Committee, Breast Cancer Committee, and the Ethics Consults service. She is also an active member of professional organizations like the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and the American Osteopathic College of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and is currently involved in the Leadership Committee through AOCPMR to help young physicians develop leadership skills.
Outside of work, Dr. Coggins lives in Fredericksburg with her husband and their dogs. She enjoys crafting, spending time with her family and friends, reading, traveling, and is engaged in community service through various volunteer organizations.
