Meredith P. Whittaker, MD
Dr. Whittaker is a board-certified and fellowship-trained breast surgeon specializing in benign and malignant diseases of the breast. Her clinical interests include oncoplastic and minimally invasive techniques to treat breast cancer, nipple sparing mastectomy, hidden scar surgery, and aesthetic flat closure. She completed undergraduate training at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Subsequently, she attended Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia followed by General Surgery Residency at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson, AZ. She then completed a fellowship in breast surgical oncology at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD.
Dr. Whittaker is an active member of several esteemed organizations, serving on committees for both The American Society of Breast Surgeons and American Medical Women’s Association.
Outside of her professional pursuits, she enjoys being outdoors, reading non-fiction, and traveling.

Dr Whittaker is an absolute gem. She explained my upcoming surgery so completely and in such a way that I felt as if I could teach a class after my visit. Dr. Whittaker answered every question and I did not feel rushed at all. I had been so nervous before the appointment but felt so much better after my consultation with Dr. Whittaker. MWH is lucky to have her on staff.

Everyone was very kind and understanding. All of my questions were answered regarding my diagnosis of breast cancer. I have complete confidence in this medical team.

I absolutely love my provider. I have total confidence in her abilities. She treated me with dignity, respect, and most of all the caring attitude. I will highly highly recommend this provider and Mary Washington staff. I cannot explain how wonderful I felt when I left the building.
