Kiyanda Baldwin Young, MD,MPH,FACS

Kiyanda Baldwin Young, MD, MPH, FACS, is an attending physician in the General Surgery Department with Mary Washington Healthcare. Dr. Baldwin Young received her medical degree from SUNY Downstate Medical Center where she also completed her general surgery residency. She pursued a minimally invasive colorectal surgery fellowship at The Colon and Rectal Clinic of Orlando. She is board certified in general surgery and her practice focuses on minimally invasive colorectal surgery in addition to general surgery.

In addition to clinical and academic responsibilities, Dr. Baldwin Young serves as the Chair of General Surgery at Stafford Hospital and serves on several institutional committees, including the Mary Washington Healthcare Cancer Committee, GI Oncology Clinical team, Oncology Clinical Steering Committee and Robotic Surgery Steering Committee. Dr. Baldwin Young is also an active member of The American College of Surgeons, The American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and The American Hernia Society.

Outside of work, Dr. Baldwin Young enjoys engaging in community service through organizing health fairs, organizing blood drives and participating in activities promoting colorectal cancer awareness and colorectal health. She lives with her husband and boy/girl twins in Northern Virginia. Her favorite pastimes are having quality family time and traveling.
