Joseph Spinelli, MD,FAANS
Joseph Spinelli, MD, FAANS, is a board-certified neurological surgeon with advanced training in complex and reconstructive spine surgery. He specializes in caring for patients with disorders of the spine and nervous system, adult degenerative deformities, and is committed to delivering highly specialized surgical care with precision and compassion.
Before joining Mary Washington Neurosurgery, Dr. Spinelli completed a fellowship in complex and reconstructive spine surgery at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He also completed his residency in neurological surgery at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Md. Dr. Spinelli earned his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, Md., and completed his undergraduate education at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.
Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Spinelli enjoys spending quality time with his family, attending his children’s sporting events, cooking and exercising. He is also proud to have served a 25-year career in the United States Navy, reflecting a strong commitment to service, discipline and leadership.
