Dr. John Cameron Muse is a board-eligible neurosurgeon whose academic and clinical journey reflects an exceptional dedication to advancing the field of neurological surgery. He recently completing a highly specialized fellowship in open and endovascular cerebrovascular surgery at Baptist Medical Center’s Lyerly Neurosurgery, in Jacksonville, Florida, building upon an extensive seven-year neurosurgery residency at the University of Vermont Medical Center.

His postgraduate training also includes a visiting resident appointment at the University of Utah. Dr. Muse's educational background is distinguished by a dual degree: a Doctor of Medicine from Tufts University School of Medicine and an MBA with a concentration in Healthcare Management from Brandeis University’s Heller School for Social Policy and Management. He graduated magna cum laude from Connecticut College with an interdisciplinary major in bioethics, laying a strong foundation for his approach to patient care and medical ethics.

Beyond his clinical accomplishments, Dr. Muse has demonstrated a robust commitment to research and scholarship, with experience as a research assistant at both the Lieber Institute for Brain Development and the National Institute of Mental Health, where he explored cognitive aging and neuroimaging.

He has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and conference abstracts, focusing on topics such as cerebrovascular disorders, neuro-oncology, degenerative spine disease, and the neurobiology of cognitive aging. His professional memberships include the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, underscoring his involvement in the broader neurosurgical community.
