Jenna McAllister, MD, is the Program Director for the Transitional Year Residency Program, Core Faculty for Internal Medicine, and the Director of Student Medical Education for Mary Washington Healthcare. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor for Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine and a Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine for Liberty University of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. McAllister received her medical degree from St George’s University, and completed her residency training in Roanoke, VA at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. Board-certified in Internal Medicine, she has clinical interests in hospital medicine and chronic disease management.

Dr. McAllister is actively involved in medical education, teaching and mentoring medical students and residents, with a focus on clinical skills development and clinical reasoning. She also participates in scholarly activity and has contributed to research with multiple case reports presented at local and national conferences.

In addition to clinical and academic responsibilities, Dr. McAllister serves on several institutional committees, including Pharmacy and Therapeutics and Clinical Competency Committees. She is also an active member of professional organizations like the Society of Hospital Medicine and American College of Physicians and has served on advisory boards or task forces related to Patient Experience, Hospital Readmissions, and Infection Prevention and Control.

Outside of work, Dr. McAllister lives in Stafford, Virginia with her husband and 2 children. She enjoys running, yoga, and traveling and is engaged in community service through local charities.
