Chang Kim, MD,PhD
Chang Kim, MD, PhD, joined Oracle Heart & Vascular in 2026 as a Cardiac Electrophysiologist. He specializes in diagnosing and treating heart rhythm disorders, combining advanced clinical care with a strong background in cardiovascular research, biomedical informatics and digital health. Dr. Kim is committed to helping patients understand their condition and make informed decisions about their care.
Dr. Kim completed his fellowship in clinical cardiac electrophysiology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he received advanced training in the evaluation and treatment of arrhythmias. He previously completed a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Johns Hopkins and an internal medicine residency at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center through Case Western Reserve University. Before pursuing his cardiology training, he served as an academic hospitalist and assistant professor of medicine at Case Western Reserve University.
He earned his Doctor of Medicine from SUNY Upstate Medical University and his Doctorate in Biomedical Informatics from Rutgers University. His doctoral research focused on using machine learning to predict cardiovascular mortality from electrocardiogram data. Dr. Kim also completed an American Heart Association research fellowship through the Health Technologies and Innovation Strategically Focused Research Network, where his work explored digital tools designed to improve cardiovascular care and patient participation in clinical research.
Dr. Kim chose cardiac electrophysiology because it brings together his interests in clinical cardiology, health technology and interventional procedures. He enjoys using advanced technology to treat arrhythmias, improve quality of life and develop evidence-based treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs. His areas of interest include clinical cardiac electrophysiology and digital health.
Known for his friendly and approachable manner, Dr. Kim strives to ensure every patient feels heard and respected. He takes time to understand each person’s concerns, clearly explain available options and work collaboratively to create a treatment plan that supports the patient’s goals. He is dedicated to providing excellent care both in the office and in the electrophysiology lab.
Born in Seoul, South Korea, he grew up in San Diego, California. Outside of work, Dr. Kim enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife and children. He also enjoys gardening and trying tropical fruits.
