Ahmad T. Allemyar, MD,MPH

Dr. Allemyar received his medical degree from Kabul Medical University and completed his Internal Medicine residency at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center. He currently serves as core faculty for Internal Medicine residency program at Mary Washington Healthcare.

His interest in medical education comes from a commitment to practical, case-based learning that is integrated into daily patient care. During rounds, Dr. Allemyar highlights clinically relevant teaching points, encourages residents to explain their reasoning and connects bedside decisions to evidence-based practice.

As core faculty, he contributes to the residency curriculum through board-review sessions, case-based teaching and topic-focused conferences. He also mentors residents through bedside teaching, clinical reasoning discussions, individualized feedback and ongoing professional development.

Dr. Allemyar chose graduate medical education because he enjoys teaching, mentoring and supporting residents as they develop into confident, compassionate and clinically skilled physicians. He values the opportunity to help learners strengthen their clinical judgment while building the professionalism and confidence needed to care for patients.

When not at work, Dr. Allemyar enjoys spending time with his family, staying active and learning about new developments in medicine.
