CEO e-Briefing: An Unwavering Commitment to Our icare Values

CEO e-Briefing: An Unwavering Commitment to Our icare Values

To our valued Associates, Medical Staff, and Volunteers:

We are living in a truly unprecedented time. We are continuing to provide great care to our communities through the COVID-19 pandemic that has gripped the world and placed a strain on healthcare providers. Now, our nation is facing the tragedy of George Floyd’s death, shining a light on the racism present in many of our societal institutions. Our coworkers, friends, and neighbors are suffering and frustrated.

We must come together to be a beacon for universal compassion, respect, and opportunity. As a leader in this community, Mary Washington Healthcare must be steadfast in its commitment to ensuring every member of the Mary Washington Healthcare team and the people we serve have the same rights and freedoms regardless of what they look like, where they are from, and the beliefs they hold. We must recognize and provide every person with a compassionate human experience.

At Mary Washington Healthcare, we do not and will not tolerate acts of discrimination. If you witness any violations of our values through intentional or unintentional acts, please share this information with your manager or report it through the Values Line.

We are guided by our mission and our icare values [integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, excellence] to create a safe, welcoming, inclusive environment to give and receive care, even in the most challenging and stressful times. As an organization, we must demonstrate our strength and resilience through the respect and kindness we extend to one another and the patients and families we serve. Now more than ever, we should turn to each other for understanding and support, just as you have done so successfully for the past several months. Please take the time to listen to the perspectives and feelings of your colleagues.

The safety and wellbeing of our team members and their families is a top priority for MWHC. If you need assistance, please reach out to our Human Resources team, Cultural Services, Employee Assistance (REACH), and Pastoral Services for support and guidance.

Thank you for your unwavering commitment. We are stronger together, and together we will make a difference in our community.

Mike
