October 25, 2017 Fredericksburg, Va. – (Oct. 26, 2017)
Stafford Hospital Ultrasound department received accreditation renewal
from the American College of Radiology (ACR) for a period of three years
in the areas of Obstetrics, Gynecology, General and Vascular imaging.
“In addition to receiving accreditation, we were pleased to learn
we earned a perfect score with no recommendations for improvement,”
says Dr. Ryan Leonen, diagnostic radiologist. “Patients, payors,
and referring physicians can be confident of our commitment to providing
the safest and best quality care possible. The voluntary review process
provides assurance that Stafford Hospital Ultrasound is meeting nationally-accepted
quality standards and that our physicians and technologists are well qualified.”
The ACR is the gold standard in medical imaging. Accreditation for ultrasound
is based on an intensive peer review which involves the acquisition of
clinical images, submission of relevant physician reports corresponding
to clinical images, and quality control documentation.
