There are times when – despite the best efforts of parents, physicians
and the availability of the best technology - death occurs through miscarriage,
stillbirth, or neonatal death. In recognizing this, we also recognize
our opportunity to assist and accompany people through this most difficult

Our staff includes a Perinatal Loss Support Nurse who coordinates the team
of Case Managers and Chaplains, as well as a full team of physicians and
nurses who are educated and trained in comprehensive and compassionate care.
Perinatal services include:
- On site Bereavement Support and referrals
- Perinatal Loss Support Nurse (who can answer many of your questions)
- Healing Through Support (Perinatal Loss Parent Support meeting)
- Library of books at no charge to you
Garden of Angels - an optional program that provides free, respectful burial for any loss
that occurs prior to birth for women being cared for in our health system,
with no limitation on gestational age.
Perinatal Loss Support services are available to anyone in the community
regardless of the gestational stage of the loss, if the loss occurred
in another place or time, and is available to bereaved grandparents.
For situations where a pregnant woman learns her baby has a life limiting
condition, Perinatology, Obstetric and Neonatology staff (medicine and
nursing) work together with a wide interdisciplinary team to develop and
offer a plan of care unique and individualized for each situation.
