Mary Washington Healthcare Welcomes Mary Washington Pulmonology, Expanding Access to Lung and Sleep Care

Fredericksburg, VA (March 25, 2026) – Mary Washington Healthcare is welcoming Mary Washington Pulmonology, a new practice offering comprehensive lung and sleep medicine services, designed to bring advanced respiratory care closer to home for patients across the Fredericksburg region. The practice is located at 1101 Sam Perry Blvd., Suite 318.

As the community continues to grow, so does the need for timely access to specialized pulmonary care. In response, Mary Washington Pulmonology is building an integrated program that combines advanced diagnostics, minimally invasive procedures, and coordinated, patient-centered care.

The practice provides evaluation and management of a wide range of respiratory conditions, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), interstitial lung disease, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, lung nodules, chronic cough, sleep apnea, and lung cancer. Services also include lung cancer screening using low-dose CT (LDCT), which helps identify disease earlier when treatment is most effective.

Currently available services at the practice include:

• Bronchoscopy and endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) for lung cancer diagnosis and staging
• Robotic-assisted bronchoscopy for evaluation of lung nodules
• Thoracentesis and chest tube placement for pleural disease
• Comprehensive pulmonary evaluation and management
• Lung cancer screening with low-dose CT (LDCT)
• Home sleep testing and in-lab sleep studies for sleep-related breathing disorders

Program expansion efforts are underway and will continue to roll out in phases over the coming months, with additional advanced capabilities planned by the end of the year. These additions will include:

• Advanced interventional pulmonology procedures
• Endobronchial lung volume reduction for severe COPD/emphysema
• Expanded diagnostic capabilities for complex lung disease
• Integration of additional advanced pulmonary testing and procedures

In addition to pulmonary services, the practice is expanding its focus on sleep medicine, offering comprehensive evaluation and treatment for sleep-related breathing disorders. Integrating pulmonary and sleep services allows for more coordinated, efficient, and patient-centered care.
