Fredericksburg, VA (January 2, 2026) – Mary Washington Hospital proudly announces the arrival of the first baby born in the Fredericksburg region in the new year at 12:55 a.m. on January 1. This special moment marked the start of 2026 with excitement and joy for the parents and hospital team symbolizing new beginning as we welcome another year.
Stafford Hospital also kicked off the new year with an exciting arrival of their own! Baby Eleo Neteyam, weighing 7 pounds, 11 ounces, made his debut January 1 at 6:46 a.m., bringing joy to his parents, Carmen and Enock of Stafford, and the entire community. Carmen said, “I wasn’t expecting a New Year baby because his estimated due date was December 21! He decided to come on a special day of a new year.”
