Quan H. Phung, MD

Dr. Quan Phung is a compassionate medical oncologist who specializes in caring for patients with genitourinary cancers, including prostate, bladder, and kidney cancers. He is dedicated to providing thoughtful, personalized care and helping patients feel informed and supported throughout every step of their treatment.

Dr. Phung brings a strong background in both clinical oncology and health policy research. Before becoming a physician, he contributed to national health policy initiatives through research for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. 

Dr. Phung completed his medical degree at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, followed by residency at Brown University and fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at the University of Minnesota. His training includes extensive experience in cancer care, supportive oncology, and complex case management.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Phung enjoys spending time in local coffee shops, watching movies, playing board games, and staying active with racket sports like tennis, racquetball, ping pong, and pickleball. 

Dr. Phung is excited to serve the Fredericksburg region and is proud to be part of Mary Washington Medical Oncology.
