Lauren Backy, CNM,WHNP-BC
Lauren Backy is a Virginia native and a board-certified Women’s Health Practitioner and Certified Nurse Midwife. She completed her undergraduate education at James Madison University and graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Lauren completed her graduate work at Georgetown University in 2014 with a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on Women’s Health and Midwifery. She has been board certified in Women’s Health and Midwifery since February 2015.
Lauren’s training has prepared her to support women’s healthcare needs throughout the lifespan. She has special interests in adolescent health and pregnancy, heart health, breastfeeding, and low intervention labor and delivery.
She lives in Ashland, Virginia with her husband and two young children. She enjoys spending time with her family, working in her cut flower garden and making floral arrangements, and outdoor activities.
I have not had a wellness exam in many years. Lauren gave excellent care, answering all my questions, and made me feel at ease about my visit.

I love this office. Everyone from the clerks, receptionist, nurse, and doctor are so kind and encourage to ask any questions I may have. They are all super respectful and make sure I leave feeling confident in my care.
