Jennifer Mijango, FNP-BC

Jennifer Mijango is a bilingual Nurse Practitioner with over 11 years of healthcare experience, specializing in urgent care, emergency medicine, and infectious disease. She is passionate about providing high-quality care to diverse patient populations, including underserved and LGBTQ+ communities. Jennifer is fluent in Spanish, is a trained medical interpreter, and also has experience as a forensic nurse.

Jennifer holds a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Chamberlain College of Nursing (2021), and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from George Mason University (2013). She is licensed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) with prescriptive authority.

Previously, Jennifer served as an Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner at Mary Washington Urgent Care, where she independently diagnosed and treated patients of all ages with various acute and chronic conditions. Her experience also included working as an Emergency Department Charge Nurse at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center, where she managed trauma and cardiac care patients in a fast-paced environment. She has also worked in Infectious Disease care, focusing on HIV and sexually transmitted infections, and has extensive experience in pediatric and primary care settings.

Jennifer is skilled in diagnostic interpretation, patient education, and collaborative care with specialists. She holds certifications in CPR, DEA licensure, and has advanced clinical skills in procedures such as incision and drainage and intravenous access.
