Hishani Perera began her nursing career in Maternity Health but followed her heart into family medicine to focus on the whole family. She received her Master’s in Family medicine from Virginia Commonwealth University and her Doctor of Nursing degree from Georgetown University, Washington DC. Wife and mother of United States Marines, Hishani enjoys the opportunities to serve military families in her community.
Hishani likes to keep health and wellness simple through engaging patients in healthy active lifestyles which lead to healthier communities. She is passionate about chronic disease prevention and advocates for early screening with shared decision-making to promote a culture of health and wellness. In her spare time, Hishani enjoys cooking, reading, running, and gardening.
