Anita Akhtar, MD is a dedicated and board-certified rheumatologist and internist who brings over a decade of clinical experience to her patients. She earned her medical degree from Rawalpindi Medical College in Pakistan, followed by a residency in Internal Medicine at Harlem Hospital in New York City, where she developed a deep commitment to patient-centered care in diverse communities. Dr. Akhtar further honed her expertise during her Rheumatology Fellowship at West Virginia University, where she trained in advanced diagnostic and therapeutic techniques, including musculoskeletal ultrasound (USSONAR certified).

Dr. Akhtar was excellent, very thorough, and had a great bedside manner. She provided a lot of helpful information about diagnostic criteria and treatment options for my issues.

Everyone was very nice and helpful. The front desk receptionist was absolutely sweetest can be. And the doctor explained everything to me in detail. I'm looking forward to seeing her again.
