Program overview
The Mary Washington Healthcare Psychiatry Residency Program provides comprehensive clinical training in a supportive, close-knit environment. Our mission is to develop compassionate, skilled psychiatrists equipped to care for diverse patient populations while growing their professional identity.
Residents train at Snowden at Fredericksburg, gaining experience across the full continuum of care, including inpatient, PHP, IOP, and outpatient settings. The program emphasizes psychotherapy, interdisciplinary collaboration, and individualized mentorship, supported by dedicated faculty invested in resident success.
As a smaller program, we offer personalized training, strong community, and a focus on resident wellness. Grounded in both science and human connection, our program prepares residents to deliver thoughtful, patient-centered care while building fulfilling careers in psychiatry.
