Fredericksburg, VA (March 25, 2019) – Stafford Hospital physicians,
leaders and clinicians are celebrating the Robert A. Warriner III, M.D.,
Center of Excellence award, given to the Stafford Hospital Wound Healing
Center of Woodbridge. The Center has achieved patient satisfaction rates
higher than 92 percent and a healing rate of at least 91 percent in less
than 30 median days to heal, for a minimum of two consecutive years. The
Center was awarded this prestigious honor by
Healogics, the nation's largest provider of advanced wound care services. Out
of 413 eligible centers, 342 were honored with this award. The award is
named for Dr. Robert A. Warriner III, a pioneer in wound care and the
former Healogics Chief Medical Officer.
“Our team is proud to deliver quality, compassionate care to our
community. We’re committed to supporting our patients in their healing
journey and providing a better quality of life through wound healing services,“
said Marie Fredrick, Vice President of Ambulatory Services for Mary Washington
Healthcare.
The Stafford Hospital Wound Healing Center is a member of the Healogics
network of nearly 700
Wound Care Centers® with access to benchmarking data and proven experience treating approximately
2.5 million chronic wounds. The Stafford Hospital Wound Healing Center
offers highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic
ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections and other
chronic wounds which have not healed in a reasonable amount of time. Leading edge treatments
at the Center include negative pressure wound therapy, bio-engineered
tissues, biosynthetic dressings and growth factor therapies. The Center
also offers hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which works by surrounding the
patient with 100 percent oxygen to help progress the healing of the wound.
“We have the tremendous privilege as a healthcare organization to
provide support to our neighbors when they are going through some of the
most vulnerable times in their lives. Through the lending of the Wound
Care team expertise they have healed wounds and improved our patient’s
quality of life. The care they provide is always delivered with kind words
and warm smiles. I am so proud to be part of such a dynamic team of Healthcare
Professionals,” said Donald Shepherd, Program Director, Stafford
Hospital Wound Healing Center of Woodbridge.
