Moumita Sarker, MD

Dr. Moumita Sarker is board certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases with expertise in managing bloodstream infection, diabetic foot infection to osteomyelitis, active tuberculosis, non-tubercular mycobacterial infection, actinomycosis, and infection related to cardiac assistive devices.

Dr. Sarker has provided continuity of care in HIV clinics, community-based STD clinics, home infusion services, and other medical services to patients in outpatient settings. She is a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians, and the Infectious Diseases Society of America. Prior to joining Mary Washington Healthcare, Dr. Sarker was an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School. Her area of research includes influenza vaccination in the elderly population and anti-microbial stewardship.
