Dr. Denis J. Halmi is a specialist in weight loss surgery and medical weight loss. He has helped thousands of successful patients reach their weight loss goals and regain their health. He has more than 20 years of experience with the surgical treatment of morbid obesity and has performed more than 3,500 weight loss operations gaining special expertise in complex minimally invasive revisional weight loss surgery. In 2006 he was one of the first surgeons in Virginia to earn the designation of Center of Excellence in Bariatric Surgery. Dr. Halmi is certified by the American Board of Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, and the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity.
