Daniel Carlson, MD,FACC

Mary Washington Healthcare is pleased to introduce Dr. Daniel Carlson as the newest addition to our Mary Washington Cardiology team. Dr. Carlson specializes in treating various cardiovascular conditions, including hypertension, coronary artery disease, and arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia, and premature ventricular beats. He offers a range of procedures, including cardiac catheterizations, echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms, cardioversions, pacemaker and ICD implantations, as well as ablations for arrhythmias. Dr. Carlson holds board certifications in cardiac electrophysiology, cardiovascular medicine, and internal medicine.

Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Carlson enjoys spending quality time with friends, family, and loved ones. He takes pleasure in witnessing his children’s growth and actively participates in their extracurricular activities. Additionally, he relishes outdoor activities, such as exercise, playtime, and yard work. Dr. Carlson is an avid reader with a particular interest in books about history and current events.

Dr. Carlson is a native Virginian, graduating from Kempsville High School in Virginia Beach and pursuing his undergraduate education at the University of Virginia. Following his graduation from UVA, he embarked on his medical journey, serving honorably for 25 years in the United States Army before retiring.
