Regional Cancer Center
Charlotte
Meet Charlotte, a sweet little patient of the Outpatient Infusion center
at the Regional Cancer Center of MWHC. Charlotte was diagnosed with Pompe
Disease at the age of 4 months, and she requires weekly infusions of a
special drug that helps her blood process the sugars that were making
her muscles weak. The staff of the Outpatient Infusion Center worked with
Children's National Medical Center to provide treatment to Charlotte
in Fredericksburg so her family didn't have to make the long drive
to D.C. each week.
