Senior Vice President, Chief Nursing Officer
Eileen oversees nursing practice, quality and patient safety activities,
Home, Health and Hospice, Hospice Support Care, Clinical Research, Infection
prevention and Control, Central Sterile reprocessing and the cardiovascular
Prior to this role, for the past 11 years, Eileen has served as the MWHC
Vice President for Quality and Patient Safety, MWH Vice President for
Clinical Operations, MWH Vice President for Nursing and Administrative
Director for Mary Washington Home Health and Hospice.
Eileen received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Fairfield University
in Connecticut and her MBA from Averett University. She holds the American
Nurses Association certification as a Nurse Executive – Advanced.
Prior to coming to Mary Washington Healthcare, Eileen held a variety of
home health and hospice leadership and staff nurse positions in Northern
Virginia. She has worked as a Hospice nurse since very early in her nursing
career. She had the privilege of working with one of the first Hospice
programs in the United States – Hospice of Northern Virginia –
one of the Medicare demonstration sites that launched the Medicare Hospice
benefit. She has published several books and articles and presented at
national professional / nursing conferences on Accountability.
Eileen is married to Herman Dohmann and is the proud mom of three adult
sons. When not working, she enjoys cooking, baking, reading and the beach.
