Monica Spellman, PA-C

Monica Spellman transitioned from a 10-year career in Physical Therapy in New Hampshire to become a Physician Assistant in 1996 after graduating from Hahnemann University in Philadelphia. She practiced family medicine, urgent care, and workers' compensation for 11 years in Pennsylvania, where she also taught physical diagnosis at Drexel University, earning Physician Assistant of the Year in 2007.

Monica moved to Virginia in 2007 and joined Gastroenterology Associates of Fredericksburg. She works closely with physicians, assisting with patient history, physical exams, education, and dietary adjustments to improve GI symptoms.

Monica is active in her church, enjoys outdoor activities with her husband, and has two sons—one an EMT and the other a helicopter mechanic in the Army.
