Arnold Aguilera, MD
Dr. Arnold Aguilera is board certified in Neurology and in Clinical Neurophysiology. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine and is also a member of the Virginia Medical Society. He has contributed multiple articles and abstracts to the medical literature. His major interests are muscle diseases, peripheral polyneuropathies (diseases of the nerves in the limbs), entrapment neuropathies, and electromyography (EMG/NCV). Prior to practicing in Virginia, Dr. Aguilera was director of MDA Neuromuscular Clinics at the Gundersen Clinic, LaCrosse, WI, and at the Geisinger Clinics in Danville, PA, and Wilkes-Barre, PA. As part of his neuromuscular practice, he performs muscle and nerve biopsies and skin biopsies for epidermal nerve fiber density. He has been recognized as a Top Doctor by Northern Virginia Magazine.
Dr. Aguilera also has a strong interest in headache and Parkinson’s disease and in the application of Botox therapy to neurological conditions including migraine headaches, hemifacial spasm, blepharospasm, cervical dystonia, spasticity, and others.
