The Mary Washington Wellness Program provides healthcare resources for
people living with HIV/AIDS and early intervention services for people
with high-risk lifestyles. Our program clientele has increased by over
14% during 2019.
Our team takes a holistic approach in working with program participants.
A key focus of 2019 was providing the tools for empowerment in their own
care through education. Events were planned to strengthen community relations
and wellbeing, recognizing that communities make the difference in HIV
treatment and adherence.
2019 highlights:
- Partnered with Gilead Pharmaceuticals and the Rappahannock Area YMCA, Inc.
to help clients reach viral suppression.
- Partnered with the Virginia Department of Health to offer free walk-in
HIV testing.
- Awarded a new grant from the D.C. Department of Health for Early Intervention
Services for the prevention of HIV.
