Kaitlin Van Winkler, PA-C, MMS grew up in upstate New York in a rural area.
Her first exposure to healthcare was as a volunteer with pet therapy in
the hospital which led her to become a patient care associate and later
a certified nursing assistant. These experiences convinced her to apply
to Physician Assistant school in 2017. She was accepted and attended Salus
University in Elkins Park, PA.
She graduated from Salus University Magna Cum Laude and shortly after moved
with her fiancé to Virginia. Two of her rotations were in underserved
medicine which she enjoyed very much. She knew at that point that she
wanted to work in a rural underserved clinic. When she discovered the
position for a primary care provider in Ladysmith, VA, she was overjoyed.
She felt it was the perfect position for her.
Here she has been able to use her love of primary and pediatric care every
day at work. When not working, she enjoys outdoors hiking, fishing, running
and spending time with her fiance and coworkers. Each day she is excited
to go to work and advocate for her patients and their families. She plans
to remain a staple in the community for many years to come.
