Mary Washington Medical Group puts the safety of our patients first. It
is important to continue your regular visits and medical management of
your health. Our providers and office teams are open and prepared to care
for you, especially during these uncertain times.
In addition to in-person visits, we are pleased to offer telemedicine appointments
via video and telephone to safely connect you with your provider (physician,
nurse practitioner or physician assistant) from your home. Virtual visits
are a safe, private, HIPAA-compliant alternative to receiving care for
many patients. When you call to schedule your appointment, your provider
will determine if a video visit is a good option for you.
By safely communicating with your provider from the comfort of your own
home, you can feel confident that you are complying with recommended social
distancing while still receiving important care advice, treatment options,
prescriptions, and medical care.
Video and telephone appointments are billed to your insurance, just as
an in-person appointment is billed.
Note: Given the special circumstances with COVID-19 in our community, some
insurance companies are waiving patient responsibility amounts, such as
copays, coinsurance, and deductible. They are also temporarily allowing
video and telephone visits as a covered service. You should contact your
insurance company for policy specifics and exceptions.
