Fredericksburg Ambulatory Surgery Center (FASC) is the only tertiary-level outpatient surgery facility in the region providing care for:
- Ear, nose, and throat (ENT)
- Pain management procedures
“Tertiary” care means that we have medical professionals on staff with expertise in areas that other outpatient surgical centers do not. And as a partner and neighbor to Mary Washington Hospital, we are supported by the full range of hospital resources.
The Care Thousands of Patients Trust
FASC has been performing same day surgeries in the community since 1987. Now with six state-of-the-art operating rooms and more than 80 professionals on staff, we perform 7,000 procedures annually, that is more than 130 cases per week.
This means your care will be delivered by professionals with lots of experience.

For the past three years, our patients have ranked us in the top 1% of outpatient surgery centers. This demonstrates our strong commitment to quality. We are accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), a distinction that signifies full compliance with high national standards for care.

The center has a seperate pediatric recovery (post-surgical) area with rocking chairs, coloring books and kid-friendly videos to make them feel extra special after their procedure and to make mom and dad more comfortable.
Before you go home, we will discuss your post op instructions with you and your family, schedule follow-up appointments, and check in with you by phone the next business day to make sure your recovery goes smoothly.
Everyone from our front office staff, to our nurses, physicians, anesthesiologists, and volunteers work as a team to develop customized care plans for each patient, with the flexibility to work around busy schedules.
All of our surgical teams have experienced registered nurses (RNs) and certified CSR staff. Many of our RNs have backgrounds in critical care or emergency nursing.
