Mission statement

The mission of the Mary Washington Hospital School of Radiologic Technology is to provide the healthcare community with graduate, entry level radiographers skilled in diagnostic imaging procedures and provide safe and compassionate patient care.

Thank you for your interest in The Mary Washington Hospital School of Radiologic Technology. It has been in existance since 1991. We offer a Certificate in Radiologic Technology for entry level professionals pursuing a career in Radiology. Attendance for the program is full time, Monday through Friday, 8 hrs per day. The hours per day will vary, not to exceed 40 hours per week, for a total of 23-months. Our program is fully accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) and meets national standards set by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT).

Our curriculum includes both theoretical and practical course work with significant clinical experiences. Our school prepares students for entry level success and encourages professional development for a competitive Health Care Industry.We do not provide job placement after graduation, however we assist our students with knowledge of available employment in the surrounding areas. Graduates of our program are eligible for the National Certification in Radiologic Technology given by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

Our facility provides multimedia classrooms, a computer lab dedicated to student success, and a non-energized radiographic lab. In addition, students are provided opportunities to observe specialized imaging therapies such as Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Therapy, Ultrasound, Computerized Tomography, and Magnetic Resonance Imaging.

The faculty at Mary Washington Hospital’s School of Radiologic Technology is just as impressive as the opportunities and curriculum offered. Our faculty is comprised of Radiologic Technologists who have the expertise and experience in a wide range of specialties within the Radiation Sciences. Our staff is dedicated to the success of our students and strives for excellence in quality education.

The Mary Washington Hospital School of Radiologic Technology is certified to operate in the state of Virginia by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV).
